The conference is designed to provide an array of professional development opportunities for Noyce pre-service (undergraduate/credential) students, in-service teachers, PIs/Co-PIs, and project related personnel.

  • Making the Most of Digital Libraries For Your Teaching: DLESE and NSDL

    Join us for a tour of the Digital Library for Earth System Education (www.dlese.org) and the National Science Digital Library (www.nsdl.org). These two libraries offer a wide range of educational resources and services to assist you in meeting the diverse needs of your students. In this two-hour on-line session, we will discuss the holdings of the libraries, and demonstrate search capabilities to help you efficiently find materials to meet your teaching and learning goals. We will also discuss contextualized access to materials; through standards-based search using the navigable AAAS Science Literacy Maps, in ready-to-use Teaching Boxes that cover a range of science content, and show you a simple way to embed search over the collections in your own webpages.

    The Western Noyce Regional Conference will provide professional development tailored to the special needs of Noyce Scholars and a venue for the projects to examine meaningful ways to support and follow the Scholars in their programs. The professional development sessions for scholars will be provided by University and K-12 professionals that have an established track record of providing professional development.

This was an opportunity to be part of the digital learning institute and learn about the many teaching & learning resources available to math and science teachers.
